2023 in Review

What a year it's been for Out&Back. Thanks to you, in 2023 we grew over 10x! This growth has been both exciting and challenging, as we grappled with the demands that accompany such rapid development. I’d like to share a few of my favorite highlights. 

We Built A New Home:  We moved into a new, larger office and warehouse space. Setting up the warehouse was new to us and caused short-term inconvenience for our team and customers (thanks for your patience!). However, this move empowered us to efficiently manage increased inventory, benefiting our growth in the long run.

We Brought On A New Family Member: A pivotal moment this year was acquiring The Locals Sale. It amplified our access to winter sports gear, scaling up our resale of skis, snowboards, and boots. Plus, it opened doors for in-person shopping events, giving our customers new ways to connect with our brand and community.

We Got a Facelift: In the midst of this growth, we recognized the importance of aligning our brand with our mission. The arctic tern, one of nature's best symbols of perseverance and grit, became the face of Out&Back Outdoor. This resilient bird not only reflects the durability of the gear we sell but also embodies the spirit of our entire company.

2024 promises to be even bigger for us. Our main goal is to strengthen our connection with you, our customers. We plan to achieve this by doubling down on two key initiatives: 

More Secondhand Gear: Through new partnerships, we have a clear path to quadrupling our inventory, expanding in both depth and breadth. Starting this winter/spring, we’ll be adding dozens of new categories of secondhand goods and 100s of thousands more products for you to choose from. 

Refocusing on Buyer / Seller Customer Experience: Your satisfaction is our priority, and we are committed to making your shopping and trade-in experience even more seamless and enjoyable. 

In closing, I want to express my gratitude to each of you. Your trust, support, and enthusiasm have been instrumental in our success. Here's to a remarkable year behind us and an even more exciting journey ahead in 2024.
