How To Wash Wool Base Layers

Wool is an amazing material for outdoor activities all year round, but can be temperamental when washed incorrectly. Here are a few of our go-to steps to keep those wool layers clean.

1. Wash on Gentle

  • Machine-wash in warm or cool water on gentle cycle, avoid hot water because it may shrink the wool.

2. Use Mild Soap

  • Use mild soap, do not use bleach (it destroys the wool fibers) or fabric softener (it reduces their ability to naturally manage moisture).

3. Air Dry

  • Dry your wool clothes by laying them flat, hanging wool can sometimes cause the garment to loose its shape.
