How to Fix Broken Tent Poles

If you run into a break or a bend in your tent pole, don't ditch it! There are simple steps to mend a broken tent pole. 

Have a pole repair sleeve? (this short tube is often provided with your tent)

1. Line up the broken pole sections. If the pole is just bent (not fully broken), gently straighten out the bend.
2. Slide the sleeve until it’s centered over the break or kink
3. Wrap each end of the sleeve a couple of times with a heavy-duty tape around the pole (ie. duct tape)

No sleeve? You can use a tent stake as a replacement.

1. Line up the broken pole sections. If the pole is bent but not fully broken, straighten out the bend.
2. Align the stake so that it’s centered next to the break.
3. Wrap each end of the stake multiple times with a heavy-duty tape around the pole (ie. duct tape)
